Brampton City Council unanimously voted to continue the fight with the OMB regarding their decision to allow the high-rises to be built at Loafer’s Lake. Council will as for Judiciary Review of the OMB’s decision. This will hopefully put a delay on construction, which could start as early as this winter.
Council is still urging residents to contact their MPPs. Also, a Facebook group has been formed and in only a few days, has grown to over 300 members.
I received a reply from Linda Jeffrey which indicated that she is prohibited as a cabinet minister from making statements about matters that are before the courts or tribunals. She did, however, suggest that concerned citizens contact the OMB citizen liaison office at http://www.omb.gov.on.ca/english/OMBInformation/OMB_Citizen_Liaison_Office.html.
